NEW DIMENSIONS 2025
New Dimensions is a site-specific outdoor work in the Dimensions series, specially developed for the Noor Riyadh Festival 2025. Installed in the public space of STC Square, the work brings a digitally reconstructed city back into the physical realm, creating a layered dialogue between the world of online city data and lived urban experience.
Designed for extreme light conditions, the installation features a high-brightness screen, a custom-built platform for the tactile interface and a dedicated ‘near field’ audio system. Major improvements to the soundscape and imagery have been made.
As in previous works in the series, the digital city representation is created by scripts that automatically harvest data from Google Street View’s API. This generated interactive 3D data cloud is simultaneously abstract and recognisable: a vast, procedurally generated landscape where fragments of real streets are reassembled, distorted, and made to resonate in new ways.
